The precursors of my art-machineries are triptychs, some of which adopt the artistic language of medieval altarpieces. I use them this art form because they are to art what the novel is to literature and opera is to music: a comprehensive representation of the world.
They are not yet automated and have to be opend by hand. They take up a religious tradition, but my intention is not to convey a religious world view, but to tell about the tensions of modern societies.
I compose the music especially for them.
