THE LOOSERS

Initial situation:

With the commission to paint a mural in a clinic, the wrecked artist and bon vivant Ennio gets the chance of a lifetime. Since his son Giulio works there as a computer scientist, Ennio believes that he wants to reconcile with him. But Giulio is embroiled in a self-destructive relationship with the ambitious neurologist Daria and wants nothing to do with his father. The assignment also turns out to be a disappointment: the clinic invites Ennio not because of his art, but for a series of tests to turn neglected, egomaniacal artists into good and sensible citizens. They do indeed get better, but they become stupid in the process. But Ennio is to be used to test a new substance...
